Terrel "TJ" Taylor

My name is Terrel "TJ" Taylor. I am the son of Terrel and Sherrell Taylor, and I was born and raised in Texas. I am the third of four children, and I come from a close-knit family where strong family values and lasting relationships mean everything. My parents have been together for more than 20 years, and they have taught me the importance of hard work, respect, integrity, and perseverance. Those values have shaped the person I am today, both on and off the basketball court. Basketball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From an early age, the game has taught me discipline, perseverance, leadership, and the value of hard work. I take pride in being respectful both on and off the court, leading by example, and supporting my teammates and my community. I believe that winning is about more than the final score. Even when the scoreboard doesn't reflect the outcome I wanted, if I've given 110%, left everything on the court, and competed with integrity, I can still walk away knowing I succeeded. Every game is an opportunity to grow, improve, and prove what I'm capable of. Because of my height, I've learned that respect isn't given—it's earned. I earn mine by producing results: making the right plays, creating opportunities for my teammates, controlling the tempo of the game, and doing whatever it takes to help my team succeed. I may be one of the smaller players on the court, but I compete with confidence, determination, and heart. I refuse to let my size define my ability. My goal is to play basketball at the collegiate level and continue competing for as long as I can. If my playing career eventually comes to an end, my ambition does not. I plan to earn a degree in Business Entrepreneurship and build my own real estate brokerage firm. I know I can achieve these goals because I have the drive, determination, and work ethic to make them happen. I believe that success is built through consistency, resilience, and a willingness to keep striving for more. Once I accomplish one goal, I'll set another, because growth never stops. That's my plan. That's the standard I hold myself to. That's who I am.
