# Personal Statement Basketball has shaped who I am both on and off the court. Growing up in Saint Louis, I've learned that success comes from putting in the work when no one's watching—early morning workouts, extra shooting sessions, and constantly studying the game. What drives me most is being part of something bigger than myself. My teammates push me to be better every day, and I try to do the same for them. Whether I'm running the point or playing defense, I focus on making the right play and elevating everyone around me. The best moments aren't always about scoring; they're about the perfect pass, a crucial stop, or celebrating a teammate's success. Basketball has taught me discipline, resilience, and how to handle pressure. These lessons translate directly to the classroom, where I maintain my grades while balancing a demanding practice schedule. I'm committed to continuing my growth as both a player and a student at the next level. As a member of the class of 2029, I'm ready to bring my work ethic, basketball IQ, and team-first mentality to a college program where I can contribute and compete.
