As a student-athlete from Chicago, I've learned that success comes from embracing both the grind and the community around you. Growing up in a city known for its work ethic and resilience, I've carried those values onto every field and court I've stepped on. Basketball and track have taught me that individual achievement means nothing without the team behind you. Whether I'm pushing through the final stretch of a 400-meter race or setting up a teammate for the winning shot, I've discovered that my greatest moments come from lifting others up while pushing my own limits. The winters in Chicago are long, but they've shaped my mental toughness. Early morning practices in freezing temperatures and late-night training sessions have become second nature. These experiences have shown me that comfort zones are just starting points, not destinations. In the classroom, I approach my studies with the same intensity I bring to athletics. I understand that being a student-athlete means excelling in both areas, and I'm committed to proving that dedication and time management can lead to success on multiple fronts. My goal is to continue growing as both an athlete and a person while representing my city's unwavering spirit.
