Carter ONeal

**Personal Statement - Carter O'Neal** Basketball has shaped who I am both on and off the court. Growing up in Overland Park, I've spent countless hours in the gym working on my game, learning that success comes from consistent effort and trusting the process. What drives me most about basketball is the team aspect. I've learned that individual talent only takes you so far—it's communication, sacrifice, and lifting up your teammates that leads to real success. Whether I'm running the floor or pushing through a tough practice, I focus on being someone my coaches can count on and my teammates can trust. The competition in Kansas basketball has taught me resilience. Every game presents new challenges, and I've learned to stay composed under pressure while continuously working to improve my weaknesses. My coaches have instilled in me the importance of discipline, and I carry that mindset into my academics and daily life. As I look toward graduating in 2029, I'm committed to taking my game to the next level. I'm eager to contribute to a program that values hard work, character, and team-first mentality.
