Actively Looking
I'm Boston Baxter, a 5'11", 160 lb combo guard, Class of 2028. Right now I play for Omaha Elite 16U after a solid 15U season. Before I really got into basketball, I wrestled — district champ and finished top 12 in state — and played football as an RB and DB. Basketball became my main focus in middle school, but I think that wrestling and football background is a big part of why I compete the way I do now — it shows up in my defense, my communication, and how I read the game. I've been JV and Varsity MVP the last two years, and my coaches named me team captain as a sophomore. Last season I averaged 7.9 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 1.1 APG, 1.1 SPG, and shot 74% from the line, and we got the program's first-ever district playoff win, which was huge. My coaches call me a gym rat, and honestly that's fair — I'm in the weight room, I'm getting shots up, and I'm at open gyms whenever I can be. I've also gone to camps at Creighton, Omaha, and Northwest Missouri State to keep working on my game. Off the court, I try to be the guy who keeps the team close and having fun together, not just focused on basketball. School: I've got a 3.41 GPA, I'm in the top 15% of my class, and I was nominated for Bison of the Year for athletics and academics. Outside of ball: I co-founded our FCA chapter, I'm in youth group, I work as a counselor at our basketball camp, and I'm active in fundraisers at school. I play soccer and volleyball for fun too. I've also gotten into social media marketing — I run some accounts that get real engagement, and I've helped my mom with her social media strategy for her retail work, which has taught me a lot about business. Family: Basketball's a big deal in my family. My sister's about to start her third year as the starting PG for our girls team — she's team MVP and plays Omaha Elite 17U. I've got an older brother and a younger brother who both play Omaha Elite too. My mom rowed in college and my dad got a scholarship as a thrower, and they both have MBAs, so there's a lot of competitiveness and drive in our house. Why you should recruit me: I'm still growing and I keep getting better every year. I play a team-first style — I don't need the ball in my hands to help us win. My work ethic isn't just something I say about myself — my coaches back it up. Wrestling and football before basketball gave me a physical edge most guards don't have. I take school, faith, and character seriously, not just basketball. I compete at everything I do. I want to keep playing basketball in college, and I'm planning to study business. I can't wait to see how much sharper my focus gets once I'm in college and find the specific area of business I'm really passionate about. I'm ready to work hard for a program and be someone my teammates and coaches can count on.
