Drake Gersema

My name is Drake Gersema, and I'm a basketball player from Marshalltown, Iowa, graduating in 2027. Basketball has been my passion since I first picked up a ball, and it has shaped who I am both on and off the court. Growing up in Marshalltown has taught me the value of hard work and community support. Every practice, every game, I push myself to improve not just for personal success, but for my teammates who depend on me. Basketball has shown me that individual talent means nothing without trust, communication, and shared dedication to a common goal. What drives me most is the constant challenge to get better. Whether it's perfecting my jump shot in the gym after practice or studying game film to understand defensive schemes, I approach each opportunity with determination. My coaches have taught me that basketball is as much a mental game as it is physical, and I've learned to stay composed under pressure. I'm committed to continuing my basketball journey while pursuing my education. The lessons I've learned on the court in Marshalltown will guide me wherever my future takes me.
