Chayden Reid-Payne

As a basketball player from Springfield, Missouri, I've learned that success on the court mirrors success in life. My journey began in middle school, where I discovered that basketball wasn't just about individual talent—it was about understanding your teammates, communicating under pressure, and pushing through adversity together. Growing up in Springfield, I've had the privilege of playing against competitive talent throughout the Ozarks region. Each game has taught me something new about resilience and preparation. Whether we're down by ten points in the fourth quarter or facing a team we've never seen before, I've learned to stay composed and trust in the fundamentals we've practiced countless hours. My coaches have emphasized that being a student-athlete means excelling in both areas. I've maintained my academic standards while dedicating myself to improving my game through off-season training and studying film. Basketball has shown me the value of discipline, time management, and leading by example. As I prepare for graduation in 2030, I'm excited to continue developing my skills and contributing to a program that values hard work and team chemistry.
