Blogging Can Help Recruits
Getting noticed by college coaches is difficult, but recruits can get more recruiting attention with a well crafted recruiting blog. College coaches use Google to research recruits and to attempt to find new potential prospects. Therefore, a recruit that is posting articles about their recruitment will ultimately increase their likely hood of being found on the internet.
“I’ve talked to several college coaches that say they use Google on a frequent basis,” says Mike Enright, CEO of RecruitLook. “Some use Google to find talent that might be undiscovered, and a lot are using it to research what info they can uncover on recruiting targets.”
It is a lot like a company that is hiring a new employee. That company is more than likely going to do a background check on their future hire, and they’ll probably do a Google search to see what information comes up. Same thing applies before a college coach hands out thousands of dollars in scholarship funds.
