RecruitLook teams up with NBA veteran Larry Hughes
RecruitLook Hoops ‘The League’ is set to makes its debut in 2018. The national basketball circuit will feature some of the top independent grassroots basketball teams from across the country – with some teams featuring nationally ranked top 100 prospects.
NBA veteran, Larry Hughes, has joined the team as the lead instructor for the All-League Camp that will take place in Kansas City before the League’s Finale.
“We’ve been talking to Larry since we had his AAU team in our event last year. He’s passionate about spreading his basketball knowledge to the younger generation, which aligns with our vision and overall goal of RecruitLook Hoops,” says Mike Enright, Founder of RecruitLook. “It’s paramount that we have an influential partner like Larry to assist with the development of the League. There is no doubt that recruits will want an opportunity to learn from Larry in a controlled setting in front of college coaches.”
The League will consist of 3 sessions and one All-League Camp. The first two sessions will be during the April Live periods, with the finale happening during the final Live period in July. The All-League Camp will feature the top 40 prospects from The League, and a few additional invites sent to top prospects from outside The League.
Session I : April 20-22, 2018 : St. Louis, Mo.
Session II : April 27-29, 2018 : Louisville, Ky
All-League Camp : July 24-25, 2018 : Kansas City
Session III The Finale : July 26-29, 2018 : Kansas City
Each team will get 4 games during a session. Teams will move up-and-down the standings based on their play in the first two sessions. The Finale will feature each team in The League in a large single elimination tournament based off the standings – think NCAA March Madness. All teams will get 4 games guaranteed during the Finale, so losing in the first round will simply put a team in another non-championship-contending bracket.
All-American Camp : Presented with Larry Hughes Basketball
The All-League camp will be run by Larry Hughes Basketball Academy. Larry Hughes and his staff will be running the skills sessions of the camp. This exclusive camp will be open to college coaches during the live viewing period. The camp will take place in Kansas City at a ShotTracker enabled facility. College coaches will have instant access to the data ShotTracker is capturing on the recruits during the camp.
The camp’s lead instructor will be 13-year NBA veteran, Larry Hughes. Hughes was selected in the 1st round of the 1998 draft out of St. Louis University. Hughes scored 10,242 career NBA points during a stellar NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavilers, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Sacramento Kings, Charlotte Bobcats, and Orland Magic. Recruits will get hands-on instruction and knowledge from one the best basketball players in the world.
With the inception of The League will also come the launch of RecruitLook Hoops Network. The Network will provide recruiting coverage and analysis of recruits and teams throughout the year. The focus will primarily be centered on league teams with some coverage consisting of a more national recruiting landscape. The Network will also do weekly team rankings on a national level, which will consist of: following all major tournaments/events, analyzing wins and losses, rankings teams for the public to view, and providing a brief synopsis on why certain teams are ranked. The League will also gather video content from each league game and interviews of recruits that will be posted to social media and the website.
Each League game will be filmed, and stats will be provided to college coaches via the RecruitLook Hoops website. All highlight tapes will be available for recruits to download through the League’s video portal.
