The first and only NCAA Live Period for the Spring is going down this weekend, and we’ll be in Kansas City for the RecruitLook Hoops Session 2 & Open Run. This showcase-style event is sold out and will feature eighty-eight 17u-14u boys teams from 16 different states and Canada. This will be the only time for D1 college coaches to hit the recruiting trails at non-scholastic events before July.
The second-leg of the RecruitLook Hoops League will have teams competing for their seeding position in the Atlanta Finale July 11-14 – this weekend has a lot on the line with seeding and college coaches being allowed in the gym. We should see some competitive games from League Teams and the Open Division.
A quick look at Toronto…
Marcus Masters, 2019, PG, Toronto Basketball Academy. A super-quick point guard that can fill a stat sheet. Averaged 20ppg / 6rpg / 5apg / 2.5spg in Canada League this past season. Can really shoot it from all over the floor. Tough at making his first move and getting to the rim without wasted dribbles.
Omar Nur, 2020, 7’, Center, Toronto Basketball Academy. The big from Canada is starting to come into his own. His size alone will get the attention of coaches.
Dario Milojevic, 2020, 6’8”, Forward, Toronto Basketball Academy. Dario is a throwback of sorts. Plays fundamentally sound ball, crafty moves down low, uses the jump hook and bank shot from close. But he also has some bounce.
Lual Akot, 2019, 6’6”, SG, Toronto Basketball Academy. Akot has been tearing up the Canadian hoop scene recently. He’s long, athletic and very active on both ends of the floor. He’s got a nice jumper and does a nice job of creating space for himself on his mid-range pull-up.
