2022 | 6’5 | Combo Guard
Mike Quick spent a lot of his time this circuit season as a top performer and on our All-Tournament Teams. At our Kansas City event this April, he was 2nd team with Demarion Watson (Iowa St.), Brendan Moss (15+ D1 offers), Cole Glasgow (5+ D1 offers), and NJ Benson (15+ D1 offers). To be mentioned in the same category with those guys is an honor — but Mike Quick deserves to be there! Quick has a couple of JUCO offers and recently picked up a D2 offer from Arkansas Tech, but he’s flying too much under the radar right now.
Quick is a combo guard that has the handles and decision-making skills to play the point. He doesn’t waste a lot of dribbles when he has the ball in his hands — he’s 1 or 2 moves and is going. His quick footwork and downhill burst is something he uses to his advantage to get to the rim. He finishes strong and will put guys in the rim. Defenses have to help and that is when you see his court vision on display — he knows where the open guys are on the perimeter as the defense collapses.
Quick is explosive at getting to the rim in the half-court and also in transition. His fiery defense is one of his best traits. He prides himself on the defensive end of the floor. He’s long and active with extremely quick hands. His lateral quickness is impressive and he has the length and recovering skills to make plays at the rim. Quick will often be defending the opposing team’s best offensive player.
