History

The Mountain View College in Dallas, Texas, is a public community college that offers two-year undergraduate programs in the liberal arts and sciences and technical programs that lead to associate�s degrees or certificates for immediate employment. To keep student life exciting, the school often hosts guest speakers, comedians, health initiatives and other events throughout the year. Students may also join more than 70 student clubs and organizations, with interests varying from academics to leadership to recreational activities. Academics at the school include associate�s degrees in the arts, science, applied sciences and arts in teaching designed to prepare students for a four-year degree. Some of the majors include Accounting, Criminal Justice, Business Administration and Welding Technology. Technical certificates are available in Computer Information Technology, Computer Aided Design Advanced Operator, Accounting Assistant and more. Admissions are open. Any student who has earned a high school diploma or GED has the opportunity to enroll. Tuition varies among students who are Dallas residents, non Dallas County residents, out-of-state residents or international students. Scholarships are offered through the college based on academic achievement or need. Other forms of financial aid available to eligible students who have filed a FAFSA include student loans, work study programs and gift aid.
