Daniel Tillo shines at Best of the Midwest
Daniel Tillo proves he’s a 2015 top basketball talent
This weekend some of the best basketball teams and players hooped it up in Kansas City’s most historic basketball venue, Municipal Auditorium. Sixteen teams from around the Midwest played a showcase games in front of family, fans and national media. The games featured #2 Webster Groves vs. #3 Blue Springs South, as well as Player of the Year favorites from Iowa, Daniel Tillo (@dt4three), and Missouri’s Jimmy Whitt.
Tillo isn’t a household name in Kansas City, but he should be after his dominating performance on Saturday. Tillo’s Sioux City North Stars squad faced off against a Columbia Hickman team that is led by Arkansas commit, Jimmy Whitt. Tillo is a 6-5 left-handed small forward that can play inside/out. He’s big enough to bang down low, and he has a nice shooting stroke to extend the defense. He proved his shooting stroke by knocking down 4 three-pointers.
The North Stars went on to defeat Columbia Hickman behind Daniel Tillo’s 30 point performance, and the national media began inquiring more about just who Daniel Tillo is. Eric Bossi, Yahoo!Sports/Rivals.com’s lead Basketball Recruiting Analyst, had this to say…
Doing homework on Sioux City North wing Daniel Tillo this morning. No question he can help somebody @ D1 level. Three sport stud, competitor

The unsigned 3-sport standout, Tillo still has plenty of options to pursue. MLB teams have discussed the possibility of drafting him as a pitcher, and basketball coaches are still evaluating him as a potential 2015 recruiting target. Coaches need to act quickly to lock Tillo up. He would be a tremendous get for the right school at the mid-major level. He doesn’t “wow” you like you see of most YouTube basketball highlight stars, but he is a polished basketball player with a collegiate body. If you want a consistent 20ppg/10rpg, then take a hard look at Daniel Tillo.
