About Me

My name is Braden Lamar. I’m a sophomore at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a member of the class of 2020. I am 6’4 and weigh 190 pounds. We are a family of four. My moms name is Julie, my dad is Luis, and my brother’s name is Christian Lamar. I am a good student and take pride in doing everything to the best of my ability. My current Grade Point Average is 3.6. I have been told I am a very coachable player and I strive to be the best I can be. I work very hard at everything I do and I have a very strong work ethic. My goal is to have no one out work me. My mom always taught me that there are many things I can’t control, but I can always control how hard I work. I also enjoyed learning the art of Broadcast Journalism at Bishop Gorman High School where I am currently the sports anchor. Hopefully a broadcast career will follow a successful career on the hardwood.

My main hobby is basketball. I try to do at least one Basketball related workout every day. When I am not playing basketball, I really enjoy hanging out with my friends, and watching sports. I enjoy time at home with my family and doing things with my brother Christian. I also really enjoy music. I listen to music every day, and I even create music on my iPad. I like playing football with my friends and family. I also really enjoy swimming especially when there is a basketball hoop in the pool.

Favorite Pro Teams

My favorite pro teams are The Miami Heat and The Miami Dolphins. I became a big heat fan when Lebron James moved from the Cavs to the Heat. The crazy part is, my family and I moved to Miami about two years later. I was lucky to be able to see my favorite team, and what was my favorite player at the time in person. I became a Dolphins fan through my dad who grew up in Miami, and the time I lived there. I went to games and just really began to like the Fins. I loved the fight song that they play after every Dolphins score.

Favorite College Teams

I have a few favorite college teams. One of them is Indiana University. My grandfather, mother, uncles and great uncles went there. The team I love the most is the University of Florida Gators. My dad attended UF and since I was little I have watched multiple basketball games. I even saw them in person when they played in the Orange Bowl Classic in Miami, Florida. I have also watched almost every Gator football game since I can remember . Believe it or not, I also like Florida’s rivals, University of Miami and Florida State. I like Miami due to my time spent in Miami. I lived in Coral Gables and went to many Hurricanes basketball games. I like Florida State because my great uncle was a two time All American football player there.

Favorite Athletes

Favorite Basketball Player- Damian Lillard
Favorite Football Player- Jarvis Landry or Jay Ajayi

Favorite Sports Memory

My favorite sports memory is the entire summer of 2017. My team (Vegas Elite 2020) had a great year winning the CP3 Invitational in LA, Terrific 24 in Indiana, and the Under Armour Finals in Atlanta. We won many other tournaments and had the #1 ranking in the US until the last week when we finished 4th. I was used as a utility player playing every position on the court for my team. It was a summer to remember.
