With Hunter Sallis being out for the weekend after rolling his ankle in the River Cities championship 2 weekends ago, somebody had to step up for the Crusaders. His high school teammate did just that.
Thomas was downright insane in his 1st 2 games, as he averaged 29 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, was 21/26 (80%) from the floor, and a mind-boggling 15/19 (79%) from 3 in those 1st 2 games. His shooting cooled down in the remaining games, but he still was fantastic all weekend for OSA.
Thomas was flat out ballin all weekend long. Thomas shot the best we’ve seen him shoot it, and he was incorporating dribble-drive moves and ball fakes to create space or attack the rim as the defense tried to get tight on him. Thomas displayed great body control on up-and-unders to the rim while taking contact and finishing.
Thomas shined offensively, but it was his defense where he really stepped up. Thomas was a ballhawk defensively. He was rebounding, blocking shots, creating turnovers, playing team defense, and communicating as a vocal leader out there. His on-ball defense was lockdown too! He was showing great lateral movement with active hands and ability to cut the angles off.
Weekend Stats: 19.5 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 2 APG, 58% FG, 58% (19/33) 3PT
