All Tournament Performer: Fousseyni Traore

If we were voting, Fousseyni Traore would have a lot of first place votes for overall tournament MVP. The 6’7, 230 pound interior force was just too much to handle for everyone who played him. Traore had 32 against OSA 17U Adidas (One of the top teams in the midwest), 30 against Team Factory 17U UA Rise on 14/17 shooting including the game winner in sudden death, and 30 against Young and Reckless 17U. He also averaged north of 10 rebounds a game as well. Traore was one of the best players all weekend, and he is the main reason why Jimmer Elite 17U went 4-1 with wins over OSA, Team Factory, Lincoln Supreme 16U (who played up in the 17U division), and Southwest Illinois Jets Orange.

Weekend Stats (4 tracked games) 28.5 PPG, 11 RPG, 1 APG, 0.8 Stl, 55% FG

Traore is a force down low. He has a couple patent post moves that he’s efficient with going either direction, and you add that with his ability to just overpower people in the paint… Traore is a big that more high majors need to get in on. His footwork is great for his size… he moves well for a big… he’s got good hands… and he brings it on both ends of the floor. His stats will prove how well he played all weekend against elite competition. Traore attempted a few three pointers this weekend and made a couple. He isn’t a reliable threat on the perimeter but he has the ability to extend out there with some work. Oh, and he’s a 4.0 gpa student!
