Communicating with college coaches - building relationships
by recruit

Getting a coach to notice you as a potential college prospect is one thing.  Maintaining the communication with that coach is another.  Building a relationship with any coach that is recruiting you is a key step in landing an athletic scholarship.  The college recruiting process doesn’t begin and end after the coach emails, sends a letter, or calls you.  As a high school athlete you need to prove to the coach that you have a desire to possibly attend that coach’s university.  Do not procrastinate when responding to email, texts, and phone calls as it will show a lack of interest on your part.  There are thousands of athletes out there just like you that the coach can call on.  Be sure that you follow up with all contact from college coaches.  Not only is this just good etiquette, but you also have a better chance of building rapport with a coach that you are in constant contact with.  A coach won’t offer you a college scholarship based on your reputation.  They must get to know you on a more personal level before committing money to you.

If you have questions about how to contact college scouts, or what the right protocol is on following up with coaches then contact our Recruiting Coaches.

Why We Started RecruitLook

RecruitLook.com was created to help high school student athletes with the recruiting process. RecruitLook intends to become an institution, the connective tissue linking high school athletes to college coaches. There are services out there only focusing on top recruits, that cost thousands of dollars, or are only looking to sell you recruiting products and information. RecruitLook wants to create an affordable service that will allow athletes the ability to take control of their future.

We have developed a website that does more than just link high school athletes with college coaches. RecruitLook saw an opportunity to enter a market hungry for more than just online profiles. We have built a social networking community focused around sports. Our multifaceted website does more than just "recruit." We cater to several demographics in a further capacity, providing a platform to list classifieds, promote camps & tournaments, showcase events, advertising in the business directory, plus much more....
