Blog Entry: Starting your college recruiting search as a senior is not the ideal way of obtaining an athletic scholarship. Landing a college scholarship doesn’t happen overnight. It takes months of executing a well thought out game plan to get college coaches to notice your talents. If you haven’t done much to get in front of college coaches, and you are a senior in high school then you are behind in the college recruiting process. We get parents all the time asking us why their son or daughter isn’t getting any looks as a senior. Majority of the parents all say the same thing: “my kid is one of the top players on his/her high school team, but no coaches are recruiting him/her.” This is the most common mistake parents make when it comes to their child’s college recruiting – assuming that because their child is a good player that college scouts will automatically recruit them. It doesn’t work that way unless they are a blue chip prospect. Tips to execute your college recruiting game plan Introduction When should you start your marketing campaign What sets you apart from other athletes How to create a target list When should you send out your athlete profile What strategies should you use to increase exposure If you are a senior in high school and you’re not getting any looks from college coaches there is still time, but you have to act fast!
